travel articles

Got a travel article, some cool photos or travel tips you’d like to share?

Good, because I’ve just set up the Carnival of Travel Articles so you can submit something. I made the carnival monthly to start, but when it grows I’ll make it more frequent.

I was searching the Carnival website (a great way to promote your blog, if you haven’t tried it; there are loads of topics) for travel stuff but couldn’t find much so thought I’d set up my own.

Don’t be shy, submit today! Follow the link above for more details.

Great idea for a new site! Guess you’ll have plenty of material starting next week! Where is the header photo? NZ I’m sure? Just wondering, as I remember seeing a few places like that where there were these bizarre straight edges on the tree farm plots…

    Hi Madame X,

Actually it’s just the generic header pic that came with the template. :)

You’re right though, it does look like NZ. I’m going to play with different images because I have so many travel pics, but NZ will probably feature at some point!

I am 65 years old and I am free after working hard all my life, bringing up five kids I am now on my own and thinking that it is time to do some traveling, but where ? first I would like to visit my mother in the U.K.and maybe stay there a month , but what then, I have read of a girl who traveled to South Africa, though some very poor countrys, and I think she was very lucky to survive the trip. My self being that much older would like some thing not quite so hairy as she did, due to my age, the days of sleeping out in the open and in dodgy sort of places are over, but I still have them itchy feet and if I dont do some thing now I never will do. Has any one got any ideas about getting back to Australie from the U.K. in an unusual way, and I am not rich, which really limits me to a low cost sort of an adventure.
    Waiting for ideas. Alan.

    Hi Alan,

Congratulations on your upcoming trip! How exciting.

You don’t mention if you’ve already done much traveling or not but if you’re looking for some fun but not too stressful countries to visit, I’d suggest a trip around Europe and the UK. Scotland is fun and Slovenia is amazing. You can buy rail passes pretty cheaply if you’re going to lots of countries!

As for getting back to Australia in an interesting way… well, I guess you have your pick of car, train, bus, plane, bike, air balloon or by foot! Anyone got any other ideas?

I recommend you check out http://www.tripadvisor.com. It’s my favorite travel site and has no shortage of reviews and itinerary suggestions.
